The Midi

Warmer days are ahead of us which can make dressing for work, interviews, and business meetings difficult. It's time to trade your slacks in for a midi skirt, long sleeve button ups for a black cutoff top, and get ready to rock dressy-casual like no one has seen before.

I fell in love with the midi skirt last December and my collection has been growing ever since. The three that I have were all found in Zara's sale section- I just can't get enough! This look started out with the basics: top, skirt, and shoes. Belts and hats are my go to accessories and I used both to give this look a little something extra. Nothing big or flashy, just some simple accessories with gold accents to give the look a little spice.

Like the look but not a fan of the ensemble? Ditch the belt or switch up the hat- just have fun with it!

I Scream for Ice Cream

Rain rain go away come back another day. As I stepped off of the bus this past Tuesday a mixture of heavy rain and hale, yes hale came beating down on me as I headed to my cycling class. Spring is begging to come out of hiding but temperatures are showing fall on the forecast for a little while longer.

Last week it was a little warmer and I got to meet up with a new friend, Holly to grab some ice cream to shoot this dress for The Shopping Bag. There's nothing better than feeling good about the way you look while enjoying some amazing local ice cream. It's always interesting to hear the comments and see the looks of bystanders as I do these shoots for my blog. I can honestly say I've never gotten so many compliments while shooting a look before!

A fun and simple date night look, or maybe you're like me and any outing is a reason to get dressed up! Accessorize this look with a nude clutch, small enough to fit what you need with the option of a shoulder strap to make it easy to carry around. Until Seattle makes up its mind, a jacket might not be a bad idea! All of these items can be found at Check them out and if you find something you like use the code FASHIONBYANITA to get 20% off! Spring fashion is on it's way, if you're going to buy something might as well get a deal on it.

Shop on boys and girl.

New York State of Mind

It was the middle of the summer in New York City and I was roaming the streets with Tristan when I asked him to snap a shot of me on my phone. The location wasn't anything beautiful or fancy but I thought it would complement the outfit well with its minimalist feel.

Some people have good hair days; this was feeling like a pretty good wardrobe day for me. The summer heat was in full swing and we were walking around the city all day, but that's no excuse to step outside in just anything. Luckily I found the hat and skirt while shopping in the city and I happened to have packed a top and sandals to finish this look.

An iPhone can only do so much, so when Holly and I finally set a date to shoot together at the cutest boat house I knew exactly what to wear!

Fashion Tip/Reminder: Being fashionable does not mean you need to be in pain, spend hundreds of dollars, or wear outlandish clothes. If you love the outfit, rock it- you wear the clothes, not the other way around.
