Fall to Winter

Fall in Alaska doesn't last long; and cold weather doesn't have to mean sacrificing your sense of style. Living in Fairbanks, Alaska the clothing shop options are very limited. The only mall in town has less than 10 stores- having moved from Seattle it's been a tough transiotion for my closet but a fun challenge.

I never thought I would be one to suggest looking at the clothes section in Fred Myer but you have to work with what you have. Some of my favorite sweaters have been found at a store that's mostly known for groceries.

Cold weather calls for a whole lot of sweaters, cardigans, and jeans. If you're like me and you're getting tired of the same two pairs of denim then I highly recommend checking out Fashion Nova. There are so many options of high waisted, distressed, color, crop style jeans to choose from.

Happy Friday beautiful people.

Sweater Weather

Hello world, and a second hello to my favorite time of the year. It's not too hot, or too cold. Cool enough for a light sweater but not so cold just yet that you need your Sorel's and fur. Fall would have to be my first choice when it comes to seasons to plan outfits for the blog. I love everything about the style: sweaters, chunky scarves, beanies- don't get me started on the boots. Man oh man do I love a good pair of boots.

My top favorite places to look for sweaters would have to be: Zara, Guess, Just Fab, and Fashion Nova. Need some cute boots in your life, then try: AmiClubwear, Nordstrom Rack, and Dr.Marten.

Sadly Autumn doesn't last very long in Alaska but I'm enjoying it while it's here.

Oh and happy Monday lovelies!

Winter Fashion

Hello lovelies! Another week in Fairbanks, and it only continues to get colder and darker. The temperatures usually get no higher than 20 degrees and the sun shines between 9:30am and 3:30 pm; this makes blogging a little tougher, but still doable! I spent this week bringing out all my favorite fur items to get me through my first winter in Alaska.

Quick shout out to Mama Long (boyfriend's mom) for gifting me with this stylish and functional fur piece.

I never in a million years thought I would say this, but it can be so easy to let style go out the window when you have to walk around outside in 20 below. It’s all fun and games until your fashionable clothes leave you wishing you had dressed a little warmer for the weather. Lucky for me, I now have my hands on a beautiful fur coat that will not only keep me warm but also keep me looking good all winter!

Keep it stylish, stay warm.

What's Your Style?

How would you describe your style? I have been asked this question more times than I can count. My answer: I have no clue. It is most commonly said that style is a way to say who you are without having to speak. Everyday an experience brings a new adventure in need of a cute outfit. My style can go from casual girl next door to chic business woman. What always stays the same though is the class I strive to maintain with every look.

As celebrity fashion influences the fashion world more and more, I have seen the trends continue to become more risque. When did it become okay to wear a nightgown as a dress out in public? Why do a majority of teens think that crop tops and high waisted shorts aka booty shorts are fashion forward? These are questions that I ask myself almost daily as I walk down the street or go through the mall. Society is teaching us that less is more. I beg to differ.

It's not just about what you wear but how you wear it! I'm on a mission to remind ladies that sexy isn't about how much skin is out, but rather the attitude you carry.

Stay fierce, be different!
