A Day at the Fair

Mannequin Love

The first customer I saw in the boutique had this dress in her hand, and as I looked to my left the mannequin was styled in the exact look you see here-  I had to have it.

After a year of living in Fairbanks, Alaska and I finally made my way to Fireweed Boutique. I had a last minute shoot and nothing in my closet to wear for a shoot at the fair so I reached out to see if they could style me. In under thirty minutes I had three looks and was out of the door.

For those of you who love every item as much as I do and wish you could have them but aren't in Alaska, don't worry! They have something called a Style Box where you can give them a few details, pay, and receive various items from their inventory. It retails at $75 but you only pay $45- for all my shopaholics it is worth the while. No this is not sponsored, but I have to spread the word about the deals.

It's been so hard living in a place with no: Forever21, Zara, Nordstrom, etc. It was a breath of fresh air walking into this boutique to find style at a reasonable price. I don't know how many times I used the word 'soft' while trying everything on but needless to say it was a lot. Every item is quality, comfortable, stylish.

I could go on and on but I think you guys get the point...I'm obsessed! If you ever happen to be in the area-stop by. If your regular online stores start getting boring- try out their Style Box.

Neature Walks with Rodney

Happy Hump Day lovelies! Days are getting shorter, mornings a littler colder, and I'm holding on to my summer wardrobe for dear life.

Β

After four years taking photos of landscape photographer, Rodney Nonamaker decided to take his hand at portraiture and I'm excited to be part of the journey. Composition and the way a photo is edited are the two main things I look for before contacting a photographer about a collaboration. I personally am not a fan of photos taken in the same angle all the time, or ones that are over done in lightroom/photoshop. He may be new to the game but Rodney is already trying his hand at various angles, and has blown me away with is editing skills.

You're bound to be seeing a lot more of his work on my blog! Check out even more photos on my Instagram.

Flower Power

Spring for me means that all things floral are brought out of hiding- anything from dresses to bottoms. I'm usually weary of online shopping on new sites but recently checked out Ami Clubwear and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and fit of all the items I got, like these black floral bottoms.

The floral palazzo pants which have been dubbed my butt pants; in my opinion are cute, comfortable, stylish and make my behind look like a million bucks. What's not to love? The original price is $30 however this site is always having a sale and can be found at $10. In need of some new summer clothes, or other online options- then make sure to check out amiclubwear.com.

I have a few more items that I'll be sure to share with you guys this month! xoxo

Bad Mother Vintage

I can't believe it's already April- there's still plenty of snow all around Alaska but luckily it's warmed up enough for me to bring out my spring wardrobe.

I say it often and I mean it every time, but I never stop feeling fortunate for all the creative souls I meet and get to work with. I stumbled upon one of the cutest vintage stores in Fairbanks- Bad Mother Vintage and I've been obsessed ever since the first time I worked with them. I picked out this off the shoulder dress and paired it with some new ballerina styled shoes and stepped out for some photos.

About a year ago I came across a photo with colorful smoke in the background and have loved the effect of a smoke bomb in a photo since. I decided to order some for my first shoot with local photographer Shiana, and here are just some of the photos from our adventure. This young, fun, free spirited girl has been taking photos for seven years and I was so happy to get to have her capture me.

I love portraits. Especially when you capture the essence of the person in that portrait. I love the artistic freedom that it gives me to create something beautiful that will last forever.
